Investment security — why the hard asset matters
"London Thames waterfront freeholds are finite. No new ones are being created. Worst case — the boat business takes longer than planned — the investor owns a freehold Thames mooring in West London that appreciates regardless."
The security argument in one sentence
Priority acquisition
Brentford Garden Mooring
River Brent, adjacent to Thames Lock. £345,000 freehold. Zero annual mooring fees. Grand Union Canal access to entire UK network. Adjacent Brentford Waterside development.
Alternative property
The Hollows, Thames — £495k
Open Thames frontage. 26m × 5m freehold. £150k premium over Brentford for maximum visual impact on the water. Dual mooring potential (PLA consent required).

Newton Brothers Marine — Est. 2011, United Kingdom

Living differently — on water, on land.

Three original structures. One design language. A widebeam vessel, a floating dome, and a floating cabin.

Scroll

Three structures.
One design language.

Newton Brothers Marine produces original waterside and waterway structures designed by Daniel Howard Newton — 25 years in all areas of art departments in film and TV.

The same discipline that builds worlds on screen, applied to floating architecture. The circular porthole window. The organic curved wall. The bold material palette. These are not decorative choices — they are the design DNA shared across all three products.

The Boat
17,300 × 3,800 mm · Shoji · NB‑01 Classic · Series hybrid

A 17.3 × 3.8‑metre widebeam engineered for every major European waterway. The Modern interior features a panoramic roof light that splits the boat into four sections: kitchen and living area divided from the sleeping area by a bathroom and small cabin office space. The Shoji design brings handmade Japanese-inspired joinery and Murphy beds with concealed desks. The shoji sliding screens give the ability to open up the entire boat or create separate cabins — something never achieved before in this type of craft. Our NB‑01 Classic interior offers bold European style in ocean blue, white and crimson.

NB‑01 Classic & The Shoji
Same waterways.
Two entirely different worlds aboard.

The Shoji interior brings Japanese meditative space to the waterway — shoji sliding screens, dark timber, a stepped platform looking through panoramic bow glazing. The Modern Widebeam is bold Italian character — ocean blue walls, crimson circular bed, freestanding bath, copper fittings. The Shoji measures 17,300 × 3,800mm; the NB‑01 Classic 17,300 × 3,600mm, navigating every lock in France’s 6,500km canal network.
